Go to the class web site.  Select the Atomic Structure unit under "Course of Study".

Visit the web research links and write your responses below.

1.    Write down definitions of these words in your notebook.

2.    Explain Atomic Number

       Explain Atomic Mass

       Read "Charge of an Atom".    What is the charge of an atom in its elemental state?

       What is an ion?

3.    Do the Atomic Structure applet.  Complete the table below.

4.    Do the Electrons, Levels and Energy applet.  Draw a picture of an atom below.  Label the protons and the neutrons.  Show the two lowest energy levels for the electrons, and label which is has the higher energy level.

        Write down the summary at the end.

5.    Do the Lewis Dot Diagram Applet.  Draw Dot diagrams for H, C, N, O, and Cl below.

        Do the applet and try to build H₂, H₂O and CH₄.  Draw the correct results below.

6.        Take the Brainpop Quiz.  Good luck.
