Earthquake Lessons
1. Student groups will create web pages detailing various aspects of quakes. Possible topics of the pages are provided by reading the paragraph on the Earthquakes homepage. As students complete pages, they are added to the web by hyperlinking to the text on the main page, setting property to open page in new window. As always, maximum credit is given to students who provide links back to general science concepts.
2. Students will compile data on the worst 10 quakes, and present results in Powerpoint.
3. Students will compare a map which has major earthquakes pinpointed with a map of tectonic plates. Conclusions will be presented in the format of the scientific method.
Here is an example.
